Customization makes weapon untradeable?
[noob]
I was under the impression that customization only added +20% damage for your character. Items customized could never be re-customized for another character. But now I am learning that customized items cannot be equipped by other characters at all. WHY?? What is the reasoning behind this? If anyone could re-equip customized weapons, then it would serve as a nice bonus for the original owner, plus it could serve as a 'trademark' for items traded. What I am saying is that customization would be useful, if the item could still be used by someone else. It's essentially useless now. [/noob] |

well if u want to customize it thats a big advantage to not customized and since its 10gold i guess they make u pay for it a different way, by not being able to resell unless u scam

The point of customizing is having to decide whether or not you want to use the weapon, or whether or not you want to trade it in the future. Plus, if customized items could still be used by other people, it could cause a lot of problems, such as with reselling, or selling preorder items.

But what I am saying is there could be a USE for trading customized items.
They could certainly prevent pre-order/quest/whatever from being tradeable in a different manner. |

Anyone know if this is true?
Can you salvage a customized weapon? Especially to get a rune back? |

Yes, I think you can salvage customized weapons, just not weapons or items from NPC quest rewards...

No runes on weapons, but you can salvage customized wpns & get upgrade components (1 max) back. You cannot salvage collector items/weapons, unfortunately.

Yeah, you can salvage them. I salvaged my customized gold staff to try to get the health upgrade on it...which I suceeded in doing...then I suceeded in realizing I can't put it on my truncheon....right away someone said Buying Staff Health Upgrades and I made a quick and real easy 1k

guys...runes go on armor not on weapons.
yes you can salvage a customized weapon for the mod...you will only get one of the mods if there are two(use expert kit). You can't salvage Collector items. |

You can salvage runes from armor that is customized (at least armor you crafted). Don't know about collector armor.

it would be nice to have the option of un-customizing a weapon, but making the cost ridiculously high to do it would work imo.

Still a bad idea.
"I'm going to make a new character and get them to Post-Searing. Then I'm going to make a PvP character and put his/her weapon in storage. Then I'll pull it out with my PvE character, uncustomize it, and wow my level 4 character now has a max damage with good mod and 2 great upgrades weapon that they will be able to use to its full potential in just a few levels" |
